Renayung*: Journey of Living Tradition

(to Queens the Epicenter of the Epicenter of the Positive Diverse Culture and Tradition)

This program manifests the resilience of immigrant communities by continually remembering the empowerment of culture and tradition that has been passed on through generation by their ancestors in their countries of origin and became a signature of Queens, New York where the struggling immigrant communities have found safe spaces where the rich contributions that the immigrants has given to New York City.

*Renayung is the name of the magical boat of Bantogen the hero of the epic Derangen which is the oldest unwritten epic in the Philippines shared among the Meranao, Maguindanao, and Iranun.

These 5 episodes are products of resilience filmed during Phase 2 opening a healing response to COVID 19 of Kinding Sindaw and the featured Artists from Nepal, India, and Indonesia.

This project is made possible by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) and the Coalition Of Theaters of Color (CTC) initiative  of New York City Council particularly District 25 Councilman of  Daniel Dromm for the designation for the FY20.

Bharata Natyam - This dance title is Mooshika Vahana , Ganesh Thodayam an invocation seeking blessings from Lord Ganesh for removal of obstacles
