Summer Intensives - Session 2

  • La MaMa Galleria 47 Great Jones Street New York, NY, 10012 United States (map)

Join Us For this open-level workshop that will immerse participants in the living tradition of the indigenous peoples of Mindanao, southern Philippines, through a somatic experience of ancestral legends, epics, and myths. From the time-honored epic, Derangen of the Meranao, and Lemlunay of the Tboli, these dances encode customary law, a code of ethics, notion of aesthetics, and social values.

These intensive classes are broken down to 3 sessions.

You are not required to be in the photos and if you are not comfortable, please let Potri know so we can accomodate accordingly.

**While there is no formal charge to join our class series, we are asking for a suggested donation of $5-$20. These donations will directly support our work in offsetting costs of hosting dance classes, performances; maintenance of our props, instruments, and wardrobe; funding our tradition bearers’ travel and accommodation expenses.
